Future of SQL Server – Focusing on Hyder

I read an interesting article on Microsoft and Oracle comparison today and thought to mention it here. As per this article, Microsoft research presented a new technology to scale out the performance of SQL Server transaction to a new high. This new technology is named Hyder.

Interestingly Hyder is not proposed as a part of SQL Server or any RDBMS. Rather it is a transactional record management system that runs on top of a RDBMS (SQL Server).
