How to Pause or Resume a Database Mirroring Session

Easiest way to pause or resume mirroring session is from GUI. Navigate to mirroring page of database property and then follow below steps:

1. Right-click the database, select Tasks, and then click Mirror. This opens the Mirroring page of the Database Properties dialog box. In the Select a Page pane, click Mirroring. This will take you to the page as shown in below picture.

2. To pause mirroring, click Pause button as shown in above picture. A prompt asks for confirmation. If you click Yes, mirroring session will be paused and Pause switch will change to Resume.

To resume mirroring click on resume button from the same page and it will resume mirroring.
