How to resolve Error: 1006 (3EE); Provider Error: 1006 (3EE) in SQL Server’s log/job failure history?

This error indicates that DTS/SSIS does not have access to the data with which it needs to work. Typically this is reported when a table/file’s (source/destination’s) structure is altered and hence the data mapping of DTS Data Pump Task is broken. Data mapping must be manually fixed to handle this error.
